Series Description:

State authorization work starts with a clear understanding of out-of-state activity and the processes needed to manage it well. 

This three-part webinar series introduces the core principles, practical tools, and campus partnerships that support effective compliance. Participants will learn how to identify obligations, research and manage requirements, and build the relationships needed to put compliance into practice.

Participants may register for one, two, or all three sessions at the same time.

Sessions:

Session 1: Plant the Foundation: Understanding Out-of-State Compliance (November 3)

This session introduces the basics of out-of-state activity compliance, including how state and federal responsibilities intersect and how institutional activities may trigger compliance obligations. Panelists will also discuss SARA and other forms of state oversight.

Session 2: Tend the Process: Managing & Implementing Requirements (November 4)

This session focuses on how to research requirements, use reliable sources, and make well-supported compliance decisions. Panelists will share ways to document research, track obligations, and create processes that help institutions maintain compliance over time.

Session 3: Grow Your Network: Building Institutional Support (November 5)

This session focuses on building the campus relationships needed to support state authorization work. Panelists will discuss identifying stakeholders, forming effective workgroups, communicating with campus audiences, and helping compliance become a shared institutional responsibility.

Additional Foundations webinars on other topics, including professional licensure, global compliance, state-to-state institutional approvals, and managing reciprocity through SARA, are being planned for December, January, and February.
